EMG Golf Company Golf Challenge 2008: Event/Competition Rules


1. Open to golfers who are Amateur Status only. No golfers of professional status are allowed to take part in this event.

2. All competitions will be played within the rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and to the local rules pertaining to the course.

3. Ties for all prizes will be decided by computation of the scores or points over the last 9,6,3,2 or 1 holes as shown on the card (net). All decisions will be made by EMG Golf and the decision on all rules is final.

4. NO REFUNDS of entry money will be made after 5 March 2008.

5. If the Hole in One prize is won and the prize is accepted by the player, the player or players will lose their amateur status as described by the rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.

6. EMG Golf reserves the right to reject any entry and to alter or amend the conditions. Their decision is final in all disputes.

7. If requested, handicap certificates must be shown to one of the EMG Golf organizers.

8. It is hoped and expected that the prize winners will pay EMG Golf and the other competitors the courtesy of attending the prize presentation ceremony, which will take place after dinner

9. Publicity: Photographs taken on the event will be used for the sole purposes of EMG Golf, hole in one sponsor and event photographer to publish their names and details (including photographs) in publicity material produced to promote this and future similar events.

10. Format: Players will play in fourballs over 18 holes. The scoring format is stableford. The best 2 scores from 4 will count on each hole. The tees are Yellow for the men and Red for the Ladies and a maximum handicap of 24 for the men and 36 for the ladies is allowed.

11. Failure to attend. Under no circumstances will entry money be refunded under these conditions.

12. Prizes. The winners of the 1st prize will be named The EMG Golf Company Golf Challenge Winner for 2008.

13. Cancellation/re-arrangement: EMG Golf reserves the right to cancel or re-arrange the event if deemed necessary in its opinion for example, if circumstances outside of its control. In this instance EMG Golf will make best endeavors to make a full refund.

14. Amendment to Terms: EMG Golf reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and to amend any rule. Entry into this event implies acceptance of the competition rules and of these terms and conditions.
