EMG Golf Company Golf Challenge 2008

Service prove a Point

A day that brought all four seasons together in one day, with thunder and lightning thrown in for good measure, the EMG GOLF CHALLENGE 2008, was won by Service Point.

The sun briefly made an appearance at the start of the shotgun, however rain and then thunder and lightning soon swept in. This did not dampen the days play or the high scoring at Leatherhead Golf Club.

With all teams keen to win the top prize and add their name to the trophy, a shotgun start sent the players off to play for the prizes.

Play was briefly suspended, however with the lightning gone, most of the players returned to the course to continue battling for the prizes.

A light hearted part of the day was having Allan Conway, a consultant graphologist, analysing the handwriting of players and this gave an interesting and humorous insight into their inner persona.
From single figure players to the higher handicappers, everyone enjoyed the day, especially the winners, who became the EMG Golf Challenge champions for 2008.

The hole in one prize, of a £25,000 car remained unclaimed, with few players hitting the green on this tough and deceptively long par 3.

The comedian, Russ Williams, joined the guests for dinner and entertained the crowd with his quick wit and one liners coming thick and fast. This really did brighten the evening and ensured the guests went away smiling.
